Main Additions

  • Acquisition of subsidiaries: Now, you can offer to buy a company owned by another. You have to offer a minimum of 51% and a premium over the market price. These values depend on the parent's CEO. They may reject your offer if it is not good enough, and you have to wait until the next turn to try again.
  • New CEO stat: Acquisition Resistance. This applies for now only when the player wishes to buy a company controlled by another. In this case, it is the parent's CEO stat that influences the negotiation. The higher the resistance, the more difficult it will be to make a successful acquisition.
  • Selling stocks short: Now, you can also profit on the downside! If you believe a company is overpriced and will go down, you can borrow shares from the public (at a fee) and sell the company at the current market price. You may make a profit if the price goes down and a loss if it goes up. There are some restrictions that will prevent you from shorting too much. Shorting is very risky (as in real life), and you can easily be wiped out, so use it with caution.

Coming Next

  • Create company-dependent betas.
  • Create a market index (useful for comparing player's performance)
