Main Additions

  • The diagram of holdings now is tidier and more visually appealing (I think!). In particular, there are no collisions between companies.
  • Created a market index. Similar to the S&P 500, this index picks approximately 30% of the companies with the largest market cap (including the player). This 30% is based on the number of companies chosen at the start. This index is useful to compare your performance with the market. You cannot buy the index, though (after all, that's why you are playing the game!)
  • Implemented market-dependent betas. Before, they were all 1, so more volatile companies are punished now. Related to this point, companies are not as volatile as with previous versions (still, they can go up/down quite a bit in a turn, so there are still plenty of opportunities for shorting).
  • Created inbox and notepad panels.
    • The inbox will be a place to receive information regarding your companies. In future versions, you may be prompted to take immediate action. For now, you are informed that whenever a CEO retires, you can appoint a new one (or keep the one chosen).
    • The notepad is a small addition that you can use to write notes pertinent to the game

Coming Next

  • Implement corporate bonds. This will add new financing options for companies and also investment opportunities for you.
  • Check the Roadmap for a full list of what's coming.
